Short answer: to go skiing/boarding/etc. as cheaply as possible all winter long and make new friends along the way.

Long answer: to hang out with laid back people, enjoy the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and hit the slopes anytime you want all winter long.

The Melrose Hickory Hawks Ski & Board Club (a.k.a. The Hawks) is located in Glen, NH nestled in the heart of New Hampshire’s beautiful White Mountains in the Mt. Washington Valley/North Conway area.

The Hawks Ski Club is within minutes of Attitash/Bear Peak, Wildcat Mountain, Black Mountain and Cranmore. Also we’re less than an hour to Loon, Cannon Bretton Woods and Sunday River Ski Areas.

Our beloved Melrose Hickory Hawks Ski Club was formed more than 60 years ago by visionaries from Melrose, MA with a common passion for skiing, socializing, and making new friends. The founding members saw the potential in an antique train station, once used as the original Ski-train station for Glen and Jackson, NH.

During the early years members were housed in the small building to the left of the train station. Over the years the Hawks grew to one of the larger, more active clubs in the valley and needed more space. Again these visionaries went into action and organized financing to build the new Bunkhouse, completed in 1962.  In 2008 a major renovation of the Bunkhouse was initiated and bedrooms were constructed, offering members a more comfortable and private sleeping area.

The Club has brought us together to enjoy skiing and many other amazing activities in the North Conway area. Members have traveled weekend after weekend to share time with their fellow Hawks, forming lifelong bonds and friendships. Our Club started with the hard work and dedication of its founders, many of whom are now in their 80s, and continues today because of the commitment of its devoted members.
